Part 5 - HOLD FAST

Sep 13, 2026  •  Associate Pastor Brad Thomas

What does it truly mean to hold fast in a world that is constantly pressuring us to let go? Drawing from Revelation 2:18-29 and the message to the church of Thyatira, we are invited to examine the tension between outward religious activity and genuine heart devotion. Jesus commends the church for its love, faith, service, and endurance, yet identifies a dangerous tolerance of compromise festering within. The lesson is striking: we can be busy for God while quietly drifting from God. Good works in one area do not grant us permission to disobey in another. Jesus, described as having eyes like a flame of fire, sees beneath every surface performance and into the true condition of our hearts. Nothing is hidden from him, not our private battles, our secret sins, our unresolved bitterness, or the one thing we refuse to surrender. This message calls us to honest, broken, surrendered communion with a Savior who sees everything and still chooses to forgive everything we bring to him.
