Partial Obedience = Disobedience
This powerful message confronts us with a challenging truth: partial obedience to God is actually disobedience. Drawing from the dramatic story of Joshua and the fall of Jericho in Joshua chapter 6, we're reminded that God doesn't just give us blessings—He also gives us specific instructions on how to receive them. The Israelites witnessed an incredible miracle as the walls of Jericho fell, but their victory was short-lived. One man, Achan, saw something shiny and decided that nobody would miss a little gold, silver, and a fancy robe. He rationalized his disobedience, hiding his treasures in the ground beneath his tent. The consequences were devastating: 36 soldiers died in the next battle at Ai because of one person's secret sin. This isn't just an ancient story; it's a mirror reflecting our own struggles. How often do we justify our partial obedience? We show up to church but don't fully surrender. We follow most of God's commands but hold back in areas we find inconvenient. We speed just a few miles over the limit and think it doesn't matter. But God's instructions aren't suggestions—they're the roadmap to the promised land He has for each of us. The question we must ask ourselves is: what are we hiding beneath our tents? What partial obedience is blocking our breakthrough?
