How May We Serve You?

What happens when something designed to bring unity becomes a source of division? This message takes us into the heart of the early church, where a meal distribution sparked conflict between Greek-speaking and Hebrew-speaking believers. Acts chapter 6 reveals a pivotal moment when the apostles faced a choice: get distracted by logistical problems or stay focused on prayer and teaching God's Word. Their solution? Establish deacons—servants filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom who could meet practical needs while the apostles devoted themselves to spiritual leadership. This wasn't just an administrative decision; it was a biblical blueprint for church health. The qualifications for these servants are stunning in their clarity: good reputation, Spirit-filled lives, wisdom, reverence, and faithfulness. What's remarkable is that these aren't just standards for church leaders—they're the calling for every believer. When we examine our own lives against these criteria, we discover that God's design for leadership is actually His design for discipleship. The result of following God's pattern? Explosive growth. The Word spread, believers multiplied, and even resistant religious leaders came to faith. As we stand at our own crossroads, we're invited to ask: Will we allow Scripture to be our final authority, or will we settle for 'the way we've always done it'? The pathway to blessing is clear—honor God's Word, pursue Spirit-filled living, and watch Him work in ways we've never imagined.
