Part 3 Why Are We Here?

What do a miraculous tortilla, Niagara Falls, and the prophet Isaiah have in common? They all point to something deep within us -- a hunger to encounter something greater than ourselves. We are wired for worship. The question is not whether we will worship, but what we will worship. This message takes us on a journey through Scripture to discover what it truly means to bow before a holy God. From Isaiah's overwhelming vision in Isaiah 6, where the train of God's robe fills the temple and seraphim cry out in awe, to Ezekiel's struggle to find words adequate enough to describe what he saw, we are reminded that a genuine encounter with God's holiness changes everything. It silences our comparisons, strips away our self-righteousness, and leaves us with only one response: woe is me. The central truth is that God's holiness is not just one attribute among many -- it is the defining characteristic from which all His other qualities flow. When we catch even a glimpse of that glory, worship stops being a Sunday morning activity and becomes the posture of our entire lives. We are invited to ask ourselves honestly: what, or who, is sitting on the throne of our hearts?
